It's been difficult to establish a regular schedule, especially as it's our first year of existence and it's not always been clear what tasks would need to be done or when. I've also been trying to accommodate everyone's schedules which is, unfortunately, an impossible task. What's more, with the garden established and the water system functioning without daily volunteers needed, there's been surprisingly little maintenance work needed. However, I agree it's time for a consistent schedule so we can plan ahead as we enter the summer months. So, here goes:
Group workdays will occur on alternate Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. til noon:
Saturday May 21
Sunday May 29 (Memorial Day Weekend)
Saturday June 4
Sunday June 12
Saturday June 18
Sunday June 26
Saturday July 2 (4th of July Weekend)
Sunday July 10
Saturday July 16
Sunday July 24
Saturday July 30
Everyone is welcome to work in the garden whenever they want. Current tasks involve clearing out the tree line, spreading wood chips on the garden paths, and weeding. We'll start composting in the near future.
